Continuing Education Credits
AHP has been approved as a provider of Continuing Education Credit by the
organizations or Boards listed below. Most workshops have been approved for
nine (9) credit hours. Workshops given by David Feinstein and Joseph Chilton Pearce
have been approved for four (4) credit hours.
California LCSWs & MFTs: Course meets the qualifications
for continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California
Board of Behavioral Sciences, provider number PCE 604.
Counselors: AHP is recognized by the National Board for Certified
Counselors (provider #5360) to offer continuing education for National Certified
Counselors and adheres to CEC guidelines.
Dietitians: (For Geneen Roth only) Commission on Dietetic
Registration, for Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians. AHP maintains
responsibility for this program.
Massage Therapists: The American Massage Therapy Association
(AMTA) and the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) do not
certify any programs, but will accept these hours if the individual massage
therapist feels they are applicable to his or her practice.
Nurses: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered
Nursing, Provider #CEP8738 for nine contact hours.
Psychologists: (Belleruth Naparstek-9 hours; Joseph Chilton Pearce-4 hours)
Psychologists can obtain CE hours through the co-sponsorship of the Spiritual
Competency Resource Center. The Spiritual Competency Resource Center is certified by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education to psychologists. Learning Objectives for Belleruth Naparstek:
At the end of the program, participants will be better able to:
- List 3 reasons why guided imagery is a best practice for healing posttraumatic stress
- Describe the biophysical nature of traumatic stress, including the biochemical survival reaction and its cognitive manifestations.
- Identify 3 behavioral symptoms common to posttraumatic stress
- List the three stages of healing traumatic stress through guided imagery
- Describe 3 different imagery-based protocols
- Identify 5 ingredients for an ideal program of comprehensive healing of PTSS, in addition to guided imagery.
Learning Objectives for Joseph Chilton Pearce:
At the end of the program, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the relation between the evolutionary structure and life-long development of the four-fold brain, and its interactions with the neural functions of the heart.
- Help clients avoid reciprocal negative feedback that escalates conflicts in relationships.
- Help clients maintain a coherent balance between emotional, intellectual and reasoning capacities regardless of negative environmental pressures.
